In 2023 the Australian Government released its first ‘National Electric Vehicle Strategy’ depicting a vision for the future of the automotive industry. They target 50% of new passenger vehicle sales to be Zero emission by 2030, with 100% of vehicle sales to be zero emission by 2036.
In 2023 EV national sales represented a mere 7% of the total market, however EV sales for the month of March 2024 jumped to 19% of total car sales which is a significant uplift on 2023 and expected to trend further upwards in the coming months this year.
